Secure Collaboration

secureWISE provides a third-party neutral, end-to-end secure collaborative environment, direct from the equipment on the factory floor to multiple remote users located anywhere in the world. secureWISE is the integration of two award winning ILS products, eCentre® and ServiceNet™, yielding a single ILS managed service product. The eCentre enterprise application server has been designed to meet the semiconductor industry's International Sematech('ISMT') e-diagnostic guidelines for an e-manufacturing framework. The framework enables manufacturers' real time monitoring and feedback control of their manufacturing process using non-proprietary TCP/IP protocol for data communications across their factory LAN with pre-defined controlled access to the internet. Using a standard TCP/IP Internet connection, secureWISE controls access to a factory LAN through a single security gateway, which authenticates, authorizes and audits all users and their actions. This centralized, web-based security interface, essentially automates a factory's IT security policies, while providing additional command and control functionality that ensures protection of intellectual property residing on factory equipment and databases when accessed by authorized remote users.

Applications and Uses

Peer to peer collaboration via the Internet is used in many industries for remote monitoring and diagnostics of manufacturing, medical, data processing, and utility controls systems. Initiating a secureWISE collaborative session, remote users, such as a product support team, can connect directly to a machine's computer within a factory and execute their support tasks remotely. While in a session, authorized users may collect data, view web pages, remotely execute commands, view current operating conditions, remotely control the machine and upload or download approved system files. These capabilities allow for faster support response times, more accurate diagnostics by qualified resources, and reduced support or engineering costs.

secureWISE also provides for bi-directional information sharing, whereby personnel in the factory may securely connect externally to their suppliers or JV partner's intranet to access data located outside of the factory. This function enables local resources access to their corporate knowledge database, data vaults, e-mail and other internal network servers. Bi-directional access vastly improves the ability for a local engineer to troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate with their own corporate management team. The result is higher productivity and a faster escalation process when required.

Beyond the need to service equipment, secureWISE creates a secure environment for development teams, JV partners, supply chain partners, or sister manufacturing sites to share knowledge. Oftentimes a manufacturing line needs additional support from their corporate development team when rolling out a new process in a manufacturing plant. The development team and manufacturing plant may be located in different parts of the world making frequent travel and extended visits to manufacturing plants a reality for developers or JV partners. Using secureWISE, the development team can join a collaborative session that enables them to see exactly how the equipment and process are running on the manufacturing floor. This capability not only reduces the need to travel, but reduces the learning curve to implement a new process, qualify or calibrate equipment, and reduce the time to meet a factory's production goals.

Enterprise Connectivity

ILS Technology's secureWISE solution provides a third-party neutral, end-to-end secure collaborative environment, direct from the equipment on the factory floor to multiple remote users who may be located anywhere in the world. Using a standard TCP/IP Internet connection, secureWISE controls access to a factory LAN through a single gateway.

The eCentre enterprise application is comprised of several software components that enable a collaborative session between factory equipment and one or more users via the eCentre Client.

secureWISE also provides for bi-directional information sharing, whereby personnel in the factory may securely connect externally to their suppliers or JV partners intranet to access data located outside of the factory. This function enables local resources access to their corporate knowledge database, data vaults, e-mail and internal network servers as defined by their corporate security team. Bi-directional access vastly improves the ability for a local engineer to troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate with their corporate management team.

Defense in Depth

secureWISE deploys a combination of both hardware and software that provides a defense-in-depth approach toward protecting access to corporate assets. ILS Technology's ServiceNet is a proprietary network hub that uses state of the art VPN device technologies to minimize intrusion risks and maximize transmission speeds. These hubs are placed inside secured network facilities strategically located in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. ServiceNet creates a cost effective, private internet connection between a manufacturer and remote users using a "connect once, access many" architecture.

secureWISE creates a secure environment for development teams, JV partners, supply chain partners, or sister manufacturing sites to share knowledge, with the result being shortened product development cycles, more efficient manufacturing operations, better product quality, and faster time to market.

Functionality

eCentre enterprise application provides numerous features to provide more efficient manufacturing operations such as: user authentication, authorization, auditing, file transfer capabilities, remote equipment operations, remote application access, HTTP proxy, data distribution, data storage, decision logic, and real-time collaboration (chat).
