The MESInterface-IT module enables businesses to gather data from their Mitsubishi PLCs and generate real-time business events to their MES and ERP systems. The past five years have seen many innovations in communication between plant floor devices and enterprise applications, but managers are now faced with a new problem, too much data, and not enough events. The MESInterface-IT module leverages edge processing and complex event management to convert raw data from the plant floor into actionable business events for the MES system. By preprocessing the data in the controller, the volume of data that must be sent to the MES system can be greatly reduced. For example, in a quality station, as parts are successfully produced, the MESInterface-IT module can periodically update the MES system in batch with the production results, and then, in the event of an error, send an immediate notification to the MES system alerting it of the problem.

The MESInterface-IT module also leverages 3rd party device connectivity to allows users to aggregate data from other plant floor devices such as RFID readers, cameras, and barcode scanners. By integrating RFID, camera, and barcode data directly into the controller, users are able to link identification data to the process data from the controller before sending it to the MES.
