deviceWISE is a software framework that provides intelligent and secure connectivity from your plant floor devices to your enterprise. This allows you to provide connectivity to any device in a vendor neutral methodology to your enterprise level allowing you to make real time decisions based on real time data. The drag and drop configuration tool provides a simple mechanism without java programming to move data from devices to enterprise databases or queues. Two Sides of deviceWISE
Most businesses have two major groups that deal with the business data: Information Technology and Operations or Production (Plant Floor, Warehouse, etc.). Each of these groups has a different set of terms used to identify the same information. Operation’s “production counts” on one side may be called “work orders completed” on the other side. Each of these groups has a different set of tools used to work with the data: control systems and RFID inventory information versus ERP applications and database reports. deviceWISE allows a knowledgeable user to map smoothly between the two by displaying the plant floor data tags in a tree on one side of the screen and the enterprise level DB tables or Application message format in the other side of the screen. The user then maps between them and sets either an event or time interval on which to base the update.
Upstream Transports
The deviceWISE pluggable architecture allows the customer to choose the set of upstream transports and the set of downstream devices to which they want to connect. In addition to these transports, there are tools to allow simple logic (transformation and filtering) to be applied to the data before transport. Embedded Platforms
deviceWISE can be run on an edge computer or be embedded directly into “smart” devices allowing flexibility in deploying to legacy environments. The customer can run this in parallel with existing systems. They can choose to start with an edge box and move to embedding deviceWISE directly into their PLC, Reader or other device to reduce PCs on the plant floor.
