AT&T Business Solutions (ABS) Industry Solutions Group (ISG) vertical lines of business (i.e. Manufacturing, Utilities, Medical, Education…) have a proven track record of selling communications solutions to include mobile voice, mobile data and enterprise software solutions on smart phones that improve the productivity of your customer’s workforce.  The basis for these productivity gains are AT&T’s cross industry mobility solutions that include Field Service Automation (FSA), Sales Force Automation (SFA), Fleet Management (FM), Location Based Services (LBS) and Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms (MEAP).

AT&T is also an innovative leader in M2M, with a proven track record in telematics, security solutions, monitoring, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), point of sale and asset management.   However, until recently, M2M solutions have been highly customized and vertically integrated… from the hardware to the communications stacks that move data between machines and the back-office applications that remotely monitor health, optimize performance and control these assets.  The M2M market is now moving very fast and is demanding more open M2M Application Platforms (MAP) that allow IT-enablement of any proprietary physical asset so it can be integrated with any IT back-office application with extreme flexibility and no programming required.  ILS Technology’s (ILST) deviceWISE product, offered in a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model, is the answer to the market need for a MAP solution.

ILST’s deviceWISE product not only helps AT&T’s customers integrate any asset or machine with any back office application… it also helps integrate any asset with AT&T’s cross-industry solutions (FSA, LBS, SFA, FM, MEAP).  Real-time predictive maintenance events will enhance the value proposition of these applications by responding to problems faster when they happen or more importantly avoiding problems before they happen.  Improved real-time asset usage and performance events will help optimize the operation of these assets resulting in improved profitability for AT&T’s customers.  Additionally, deviceWISE increases the value of AT&T’s cloud-based application offeings by increasing the # of cloud-based transactions emanating from machines being remotely managed.

Today, AT&T is very focused on enabling an M2M self-service solution for enterprise customers to provision and manage the health and billing plans for the M2M network-layer “IP” connection through the EoD platform or the Jasper Wireless partnership.

Now, with the ILS Technology partnership, AT&T enables an M2M self-service solution for enterprise customers to make it very easy to provision an application-layer “IT” connection between field assets and back-office applications.  What used to take many months of development can now happen in days.   Together, ILST + EoD/Jasper enable a complete “end to end connection” that dramatically speeds time to market for AT&T’s customers.

The partnership between AT&T and ILS Technology enables unprecedented M2M customer innovations within the ABS/ISG vertical line of business teams.  The partnership opens opportunities for expanded sales through the ability for AT&T sales representatives to offer a complete end-to-end solution and services that simply, securely and cost efficiently allow customers to link their assets to remotely located business intelligence and device management applications and databases.

The AT&T iFactory and iFacility application concepts (see videos below) are based on ILST’s deviceWISE product.  OEM’s (asset builders) and Plant/Facility Managers (asset owners) gain benefits in cost control, customer satisfaction and increased revenue/productivity in ways never before imagined.  ILST’s deviceWISE product provides MAP functionality that is a unique differentiator for AT&T at this early stage in the M2M market explosion.
